Kid Cudi’s testimony is adding a celebrity touch to Sean “Diddy” Combs’ sex-crimes trial.
Combs’ ex-girlfriend Casandra “Cassie” Ventura Fine testified earlier in the trial that Combs threatened to blow up Cudi’s car during their brief relationship after learning about them.
Cudi, whose legal name is Scott Mescudi, was Combs’ ex-girlfriend. On May 22, he is scheduled to testify in Combs’ ongoing federal trial.
The “Me & U” singer’s testimony is consistent with allegations made in her lawsuit against the troubled ex-mogul in November 2023, in which she accused the founder of Bad Boy Records of sexual abuse and domestic violence during their relationship.
Following the filing of Cassie’s lawsuit, a Cudi representative verified the claims made by his former partner in the lawsuit and confirmed the allegations to The New York Times.
The week of May 12, Ventura Fine gave four days of shocking testimony in which she claimed that Combs’ abuse of her also affected Cudi and others in his inner circle.
Following their musical collaboration, Ventura Fine and Cudi had a brief romance in 2011 during a lull in her relationship with Combs.

Ventura Fine testified in court that she used a burner phone to call Cudi in order to keep Combs from learning about their relationship.
However, Ventura Fine claimed that Combs turned to violence after discovering the relationship through emails on her phone while having a “freak off,” a colloquial term for his drug-fueled sex sessions at different hotels that she claims were coerced.
Ventura Fine claimed that Combs became enraged and sprang at Cassie with a wine bottle opener between his fingers after seeing emails between Cassie and Combs’ former assistant Capricorn Clark regarding bringing a toiletry bag to Mescudi’s house. She fled after the opener failed to hit her.
Later, Ventura Fine went to Combs’ home to settle the dispute. He was “irate” and threatened to release “freak-off” videos of her, she testified. On her way out, he also gave her a back kick, which caused a bruise.
In a subsequent email to her mother and Clark, Ventura Fine claimed that Combs had threatened to make two “explicit sex tapes” of her public. She claimed that while Combs was abroad, he also promised to have someone else physically harm Mescudi and her.
Ventura Fine told the court that Cudi visited them during the Connecticut holidays, but she ended their relationship because Combs’ threat to harm them made it too risky to continue.

Combs threatened to blow up Mescudi’s car, according to Ventura Fine. Ventura Fine filed a civil lawsuit in November 2023, claiming that the car was actually blown up in Mescudi’s driveway.
She testified that Ventura Fine, Combs, and Mescudi finally got together to discuss her and Mescudi ending their relationship.
How about my car? Ventura Fine said that Mescudi asked. “What vehicle?” Combs answered.
Following the passing of Combs’ other ex-girlfriend, Kimberly “Kim” Porter, who was also the mother of three of his biological children, Ventura Fine and Combs broke up in the fall of 2018.
