Billy Joel
Due to health concerns, Billy Joel will not be performing at his upcoming shows.

The “Piano Man” singer revealed on Friday, May 23, that he would be canceling all of his planned shows due to a recent diagnosis of normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH).
According to a statement obtained by PEOPLE and shared on his Instagram, recent concert performances have exacerbated this health condition, resulting in issues with hearing, vision, and balance.
Joel, 76, is following his doctor’s orders and is receiving specialized physical therapy. It has also been suggested that he should not perform while he is recuperating.
The musician is “appreciative of the great care he is receiving and is fully committed to prioritizing his health,” according to the press release. He looks forward to the day when he can perform live once more and is appreciative of the fans’ support during this difficult time.
Joel issued a statement saying, “I sincerely apologize for disappointing our audience, and thank you for understanding.”
Regarding refunds for tickets, fans will not be required to do anything in order to obtain their reimbursement. The original method of payment will be automatically refunded.
His summer performances in New Orleans, Toronto, Santa Clara, Salt Lake City, Washington, D.C., and Liverpool are among the postponed dates for his concerts.
Joel fell during a February performance at Mohegan Sun in Connecticut, which led to this cancellation months later. According to a fan video, Joel seemed to trip and fall backwards, landing on his side, after spinning his microphone and throwing it towards the audience at one point during the performance.
He appeared to bounce back from the fall a short while later, and his show proceeded according to schedule.
The singer of “Big Shot” declared the following month that he would be delaying his shows until June due to a “medical condition” that necessitated that he “undergo physical therapy under the supervision of his doctors.”
On March 11, his team stated, “Joel is expected to make a full recovery.” “On July 5, 2025, the tour will return to Pittsburgh’s Acrisure Stadium.
Joel wrote on his Instagram at the time, “My health must come first, even though I regret postponing any shows.” “I’m excited to return to the stage and enjoy live music with our incredible fans. I appreciate your understanding.
Joel has received 23 Grammy nominations and five Grammy wins over his career. In addition to having 33 Top 40 hits, he has sold over 150 million records. In 1992 and 1999, respectively, he was admitted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
In July 2024, he performed his 150th show at Madison Square Garden, his last performance there as part of his historic 10-year residency.
