Michelle Williams tells the tragic tale of her late husband, Heath Ledger.

Michelle Williams talked candidly and emotionally about her connection with Heath Ledger, her late ex-boyfriend.
The Dawson’s Creek graduate was a guest on the Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard podcast on Monday. The two discussed their interactions with Ledger prior to his passing in 2008.
Regarding the actor from The Dark Knight, Shepard remarked, “I feel obligated to say that I knew him a little bit when he was getting sober, and I don’t know that I’ve ever fallen in love with somebody so quickly.”
“I can feel the weight of the world on this boy in a very unique way that kind of broke my heart. He is one of the most special boys I’ve ever met.” He seemed so wonderful to me, and I was really, really depressed.
During the film’s press tour, the two actors had their daughter in October 2005. They had originally met on the set of Brokeback Mountain, where they played husband and wife.
“A baby was born to us. However, I guess one advantage of youth is that you don’t have as much life experience to put things in perspective,” Williams remarked. “So you’re really just going with the flow.”
“When I make mistakes in front of my daughter and own up to them and apologize, it teaches her to apologize and say, ‘Oops, Mommy, I’m sorry,’ and it’s not a big deal,” Williams said, sharing more about raising Matilda following Ledger’s passing.

“We move on, and it’s a part of life,” she added. “No guilt or responsibility. Did you make a mistake? Lovely. Today, I’ve already made five.
Following Ledger’s passing, the Dying for Sex actress married Phil Elverum for a brief period in 2018 before being married to Thomas Kail in 2020. A boy named Hart, a child born in 2022, and a third child born last month are all shared by the couple.
Williams previously discussed Ledger’s passing in an interview with Porter magazine in 2016. Regarding her experience as a single mother at the time, Williams remarked, “Talk about a learning process.”
“God, I wonder what I would say about it. I’m really sensitive about it, and I definitely didn’t anticipate being in a relationship with an 11-year-old at 36. I did not anticipate this.
“To be honest, I think I believe in embracing where you are and where you’ve been and not battling circumstances for pretty much anything else.
If Matilda hadn’t lost her father, she added, “I would be able to go completely down that line of thinking in pretty much all senses but one.”
