Why American Idol Eliminated 2 Singers During Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Week ?

American IdolTop 14 are fighting for a spot in the Top 12.

In the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame-themed episode on April 27 the contestants all had a huge list of songs to perform, with their task being to sing a track by one of the nearly 400 Rock Hall members with “You’ve Got a Friend” singer James Taylor taking on a mentorship role.

In a bold move Desmond Roberts sang The Commodores in front of Lionel Richie – and won everyone’s hearts over as Richie and Luke Bryan pointed out that Desmond had outdone the former frontman with his cover Carrie Underwood also stepped out of her comfort zone drawing hesitant critical response but which was always met with praise.

When rehearsing with Taylor Desmond admitted in an interviewPlaying Jesus Is Lovein front of Lionel is risky.

He began at the piano and moved to the centre of the stage where he played a series of notes in succession to spot talent revealing their head voice his performance was so successful that Desmond made Richie feel uncomfortable.

You got some octaves that I didn’t sing Richie said You tried to sing my song It was a very difficult song to sing and you sang it very easily and very well.

Bryan cheekily agreed The whole time I was like Lionel didn’t sing it like that He added that he didn’t believe the falsettos were necessary but ended the compliment sandwich with You’ve got one of the most dynamic voices I’ve ever heard.

In a rare moment, Underwood offered a well-couched rebuke of aspiring preacher Canaan James Hill who took the stage with Aretha Franklin’s Mary Don’t You Weep

I kind of think you cheated the system a little on the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame she said.

Bryan agreed with Underwood, though he noted We love the gospel stuff.
